Is Tony Robbins a Fraud?

Some have called Tony Robbins a fraud or a scam artist. If so, then he certainly has a very well orchestrated scam that has been fooling many people for many years.

Possible? Yes. Many of his supporters have reputations to uphold, however, and should probably know better than to endorse someone who is not on the level. Still mistakes can be made.

For years, people have been accusing Tony Robbins of being a scam. My guess is that most of this stems from two things. One, he's a very successful and very visible target. Two, most people are probably not willing to admit that their own perceived lack of success is their own fault. Some people just refuse to accept the fact that their lives can change if they do something about it.

Some people were quick to point to his divorce and say that proves that his methods don't work. After all, if his techniques worked, he wouldn't be divorced, right?

Wrong. I'm not advocating divorce, per se, but if it happens, it should be treated appropriately. Divorce is not failure, divorce is change. Rethink the concept, and rework your outlook and your expectations.

Even Steve Pavlina, who had a bad experience with Tony Robbins says that he still finds "value in Tony Robbins' materials." He goes on to say in his blog that he knows people who have attended Tony's Mastery University seminars and "spoke highly of the experience."

Some of Tony Robbins techniques have served me well. I have used some of Tony's books and audio and video products with great success. Based on my experiences, I cannot say that Tony Robbins is a fraud, or even anything remotely resembling that.

I, like Steve, have received tremendous benefit from the books and audio/video materials that Robbins puts out. I have never personally had a bad experience with his products or his company. In fact, just the opposite. When one of the tapes from the Personal Power II series broke, the company was kind enough to replace it with a CD, no questions asked.

There seems to be no shortage of people who are willing to voice their opinion. Whether those opinions are accurate or not may depend upon your point of view. Making sweeping statements about a subject or a person based on one's limited experience can be a lesson in how not to form opinions.

I would suggest to you that before you pass judgment on whether Tony Robbins is a fraud or not, that you go to a book store and read through some of his books first. See if his approach speaks to you in some meaningful way. Then decide for yourself.
