More Personal Mission Statement Examples
These personal mission statement examples use a favorite efficiency tool used by large companies, the acronym. Use these to express your life purpose, or come up with your own using this concept. An acronym is a word formed from the first letter or first few letters of each word in a phrase or group of words. Large companies and government organizations are famous for coming up with all kinds of acronyms that their employees have to learn. The reason for this is simple... it's a lot easier to remember, repeat, and use in communications than it is to remember long phrases. This type of mission statement is fairly short and to the point. Here are a few examples. ActAchieve Connect Teach HappyHelp - others Associate - with the best Participate - take risks Persevere - don't give up Yes - to opportunity I realize that this process can be a bit daunting. It requires self-examination as well as some creative skills that some people find difficult to bring to the surface. Using acronyms makes the process a bit easier and brings ideas into focus. It forces you to come up with an answer, and produces mission statement that is concise and memorable, as well as a battle cry slogan that you can be proud of. Words like "ACT" and "RESPECT" can embody a sense of control over your life, and serve as a reminder to you to stay on target. The great thing is, you can have fun with this and the letters can stand for anything you like. "B" can mean "be part of the solution" or "break down barriers." You can if you wish, and some might suggest that you should, use this as an initial work in progress to springboard yourself to a more extensive mission statement. Personally, I like to be pragmatic. If it works, use it. If you find at some point it doesn't work for you anymore, change it. A good exercise would be to sit down and write out what you think your best qualities are. List at least 10 of them. If you're having trouble doing that, picture your ideal friend, or someone that you admire. What are their 10 best qualities? Then, you can see if you can map out an acronym that creates a word or phrase that encompasses some or all of those qualities.
