Diet Motivation Tip Sheet
Here's a diet motivation tip sheet with some hints on how to ensure your success in the area of weight loss.
As I'm sure you're aware, there are tons of tips out there for dieting. Not all of the advice works for everyone of course, but hopefully you can take away at least one tip from this page that helps you to see more success.
- Keep a journal to track your progress.
- Write down 5 empowering questions and use them for daily motivation
- Write down your 5 biggest fears about your dieting - most people don't address their fears -- what are yours?Fear of failure? Fear of others knowing about your failure?
Fear of success? Fear of having success but then slipping back into bad habits (this is huge!!)? Then ask yourself why? For each fear, why do you feel that way? Is it your assessment of yourself that's important, or is it what others think? Why? Getting at the "root of the why" will often reveal an inner fear that you didn't know you had. - Ask yourself - what's the worst that could happen with my diet? Write that down. Read it. This is likely not a big deal.
If it is a big deal (like you think you'll die if you get too thin), then you need to evaluate why you're thinking this way. What if you don't (or do) meet your goals? Will you live if you don't meet your goals? Of course. Will you live if you do meet your goals? Of course you will. - Read other people's diet success stories - take inspiration from others and use it as your own.
- Remain flexible - there isn't just one way to do things. The principles and concepts may be the same, but sometimes what works for one person won't work for another.
Adjust your plan as needed if what you're doing isn't working, and pick up any dieting success tips from wherever you can. But, don't fall into the trap of changing your whole plan to another one. Diet hopping is not beneficial. If you're too restrictive, you can end up on a rebound binge. This is especially true if you don't see results quickly, which often happens. You might be asking... "Is this diet going to work?" "When will I see results (if at all)? When you don't see results quickly, those doubts can overwhelm you. You usually then move to the next thought which is... if this isn't going to work, then why am I sacrificing so much? - Be patient and consistent - remain patient as most diets take several days to several weeks to really start working. You didn't put the pounds on overnight, and you won't take them off overnight either.
In an article on 3 easy dieting success tips Beverley Brooke, editor of Health & Finesse mentioned consuming lots of water, eating breakfast, and eating several meals and snacks per day.
